Perco

Perco was designed to make loose leaf tea brewing as easy as possible.

It needed to be easy to use and clean, and fit into a variety of kitchens.

Sketches helped define form.

MDF models were used to refine the packaging design for shipment.

A 3D-printed mold was used for producing the silicone base in the required quantities.
Sold a run of 10 units through the Georgia Tech ID expo.

Buyers found that the lid warped slightly when exposed to steam, and that a lower price point would make it an easier sell.

Updates would focus on a stronger resin coating on the lid, and redesigning the glass and silicone structure into a singular piece to reduce costs.
